Jason's Cancer Resources
Having been around the cancer block a few times, I wanted to use this site to plug some of my favorite cancer-related resources and organizations.
Planet Cancer
www.planetcancer.org
Planet Cancer is the center of the young adult cancer survivor's universe. I am a volunteer moderator on their international forum for cancer survivors and their loved ones and have attended a couple of their retreats outside of Austin, Texas. Amazing inspiring people!
YACS-DC
www.yacsdc.org
YACS-DC (stands for Young Adult Cancer Survivors-DC) is a networking and support group that I co-founded with my awesome pal Lauren to help
young adult cancer survivors in their 20s and 30s connect locally to share experiences, resources and support. We have established a
monthly support group at the George Washington Cancer Institute and have 25+ members.
The Wellness Community
www.thewellnesscommunity.org
The Wellness Community is an international organization with 25 facilities that provide free cancer support and educational services to survivors and their loved ones. I have been in weekly support groups in St. Louis and DC for the past two years and volunteer for the organization in many different capacities.

for many important things.
Camp Mak-A-Dream
www.campdream.org
Everyone knows I am a die hard camp enthusiast. Camp Mak-A-Dream gives kids and young adults with cancer a free opportunity to experience
camp in their beautiful western Montana facility. I attended one of their young adult programs in January of 2007 and it was absolutely amazing.
I'm Too Young for This
www.imtooyoungforthis.org
A TIME Magazine Best 50 Website for 2007, the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation, i[2]y, is the first national, survivor-led advocacy, support and research organization working exclusively on behalf of survivors and care providers under the age of 40. It's an awesome resource for all kinds of free resources specifically for young adults.
Lance Armstrong Foundation
www.livestrong.org
Each year, nearly 65,000 young adults between the ages of 15 and 40 are diagnosed with cancer. In contrast to those younger and older, survival rates for young adults have not increased since 1975, possibly due to factors such as lack of insurance, less participation in clinical trials and delayed diagnoses. We formed the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance with the knowledge that unity is strength - by working together we can raise awareness and effect positive change for young adults with cancer.
National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship
www.canceradvocacy.org
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is the oldest survivor-led cancer advocacy organization in the country, advocating for quality cancer care for all Americans and empowering cancer survivors. NCCS believes in evidence-based advocacy for systemic changes at the federal level in how the nation researches, regulates, finances, and delivers quality cancer care.
Chemocare.com
www.chemocare.com
Chemocare.com, is a great website designed to provide the latest information about chemotherapy to patients and their families,
caregivers and friends. It is a great resource for anybody who has to go through any cancer treatment with chemotherapy.
